Mr. Merrill focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation, commercial litigation, mortgage foreclosure defense, real estate law, business law, family law, and criminal defense. Mr. Merrill began working for the Kramer Law Firm after finishing his first year at Barry University School of Law.
Before moving to Florida, Mr. Merrill received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with a minor in Business, from the University of Utah. While attending the University of Utah, Mr. Merrill was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, a national Economics honor society. Mr. Merrill also worked for a boutique Intellectual Property law firm in Salt Lake City, Utah while attending the University of Utah.
Mr. Merrill earned his Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law. While attending Barry University School of Law, Mr. Merrill received awards for the highest class grade in Legal Research and Writing I, Trade Regulations, and Consumer Protection.
Mr. Merrill is very active in the community. While in law school, Mr. Merrill participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program provides a free service to low-income individuals to prepare and file their tax returns. Mr. Merrill is an active member of the Seminole County Bar Association and currently President-Elect of the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Merrill’s involvement with the Seminole County Young Lawyers Division has involved working with the Boys and Girls Club and currently working with the Rescue Outreach Mission of Central Florida.
Mr. Merrill is also a director of the Rotary Club of Seminole County South. As a member of Rotary, Mr. Merrill currently co-chairs the Coalition for the Homeless, providing meals to approximately 500 individuals every few months. Mr. Merrill also participates with the Rising Achievers Program, Seniors Intervention Group, and ringing the bell for the Salvation Army during the holiday season.
